Animals are very dear to Colin's heart and he enjoyed nothing better than early morning walks with his dog Smudge. Sadly Smudge died in 2019.
After attending a number of pastel courses with Catherine Inglis S.W.A. (Skirpenbeck) Colin went through a phase painting animal portraits. The painting to the left is his neighbour's dog called Jack.
Diverse subject matter, media and methods
What Colin finds most exciting about painting is being fired up by something stimulating, perhaps the work of another artist, the flight of a bird or even something in the news, and then wanting to express his reaction to it.
